About PDFinator
PDFinator is an online PDF editor built for people who need to mark up documents quickly and clearly. Upload a PDF or an image, place icons, emojis and text exactly where you need them, crop to the area that matters, and export a clean PDF or JPG you can share with anyone — all from your browser, in English or Hebrew.
Who we are
We are a small, focused team of designers and developers who spent years working with plans, drawings, forms and technical documents. Again and again we saw professionals print a PDF, mark it with a pen, scan it back, and email a blurry copy. Desktop PDF software was expensive, complicated and full of features nobody used.
PDFinator was born to fix that. Our mission is simple: give everyone a fast, friendly and affordable way to annotate documents online, without installing anything and without compromising on privacy. We build in Israel and design every screen to work equally well in right-to-left Hebrew and left-to-right English.
What is a PDF?
PDF stands for Portable Document Format. It was created in the early 1990s to solve a basic problem: a document should look exactly the same on every computer, operating system and printer. A PDF packages text, fonts, vector graphics and images into a single file that preserves layout, so a contract, an invoice or an engineering drawing appears just as its author intended.
In 2008 PDF became an open international standard (ISO 32000), which is why virtually every device can open it today. Specialised variants exist too — PDF/A for long-term archiving, PDF/X for print production, and PDF/UA for accessible documents.
Because PDFs are designed to be fixed, editing them has traditionally been hard. Most of the time, though, people don't need to rewrite a PDF — they need to add something on top of it: a mark, a symbol, a note, a highlight. That is exactly what PDFinator is designed for.

Privacy by design
Your documents are yours. On the free plan, files and icons are stored only in your own browser and never uploaded to our servers. Subscribers can choose to keep their documents in a private, encrypted account space that only they can access. We never sell your data and never use your documents to train anything.
Accessible for everyone
We follow WCAG 2.1 AA guidelines and the Israeli accessibility standard IS 5568. Every page includes an accessibility menu with text resizing, contrast modes, readable fonts, link highlighting and more.

Do I need to install software? No. PDFinator runs entirely in your web browser on desktop, laptop and tablet.
